A 0.4 mm gel pen and a 0.7 mm gel pen are different objects. One suits small handwriting and cramped planner boxes; the other suits signing things and writing that has to be read across a desk. People who like a pen usually like a specific nib size, and they are rarely told what it is.

So every pen here carries the nib size, whether the ink is gel or oil-based ballpoint, whether it is retractable or capped, and how many are in the pack. Erasable pens are labelled as erasable, because thermo-sensitive ink behaves differently in a hot car.

Writing paper and notebooks are listed with sheet count and, where the manufacturer publishes it, ruling and paper weight. Weight is what decides whether your pen bleeds through — the lighter the paper, the more careful you have to be with gel and fountain ink.
